Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi delivered the inaugural address at India International Science Festival (IISF) 2020.
The goal of the IISF 2020 is to help youth develop 21st-century skills, with a focus on scientific knowledge, creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork.

Indian Army and Bank of Baroda have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for 'Baroda Military Salary Package'.
The MoU lays down the basis on which banking services would be provided by Bank of Baroda to serving and retired personnel of Indian Army.
The package offers very attractive benefits including free insurance covers of Accident, Permanent Total Disability, Partial disability and Air Accident of sizeable amounts and Higher Education & Girl Child Marriage Cover on death in case of serving personnel.

Facts:

World Bank Signs $500 Million Project to Develop Green, Resilient and Safe Highways in the states of Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh.
The $500 million loan from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD), has a maturity of 18.5 years including a grace period of five years.
The Green National Highways Corridors Project will support MoRTH construct 783 km of highways in various geographies by integrating safe and green technology designs

Legion of Merit is awarded for outstanding service, fidelity, and loyalty in either combat or non-combat positions.
The badge of Legion of Merit award is a five-rayed white cross, edged with red, resting on a green wreath with a blue centre containing 13 white stars.
US President Donald Trump has presented the prestigious Legion of Merit, a top US honour, to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his leadership in elevating the strategic partnership of India and the US.
The other two Indian’s to receive this award were:
- Field Marshal Kodandera Madappa Cariappa, OBE, Indian Army, 1950
- General Satyawant Mallana Srinagesh, Indian Army, September 2, 1955

National Farmers’ Day, also known as Kisan Diwas, is celebrated on December 23 to honour India’s farmers and mark the birth anniversary of the nation’s fifth prime minister, Choudhary Charan Singh.
Chaudhary Charan Singh served as prime minister between 1979 and 1980, known for his pioneering work to promote the welfare of farmers and the agricultural sector.
