PM Narendra Modi Released 109 High-Yielding, Climate Resilient & Biofortified Varieties of Crops

On 11th August 2024, Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi, released 109 new varieties of 61 crops developed by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) at ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), Pusa, New Delhi, Delhi.

The high yielding, climate resilient and biofortified varieties of the 61 crops includes 34 field crops and 27 horticultural crops.

NPCI Spins Off BHIM into a Separate Arm; Lalitha Nataraj Appointed CEO

The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) is spinning off its Bharat Interface for Money (BHIM) app into a standalone subsidiary to bolster its presence in the digital payments market. Lalitha Nataraj, previously with IDFC FIRST Bank and ICICI Bank, has been appointed as CEO of this new entity.
