Hamara Samvidhan, Hamara Samman Campaign held in Bikaner

The Hamara Samvidhan, Hamara Samman Campaign Event held in Bikaner, Rajasthan, on 9 March to commemorate India's 75th year as a Republic.

The event has the honor of hosting several eminent personalities and public figures to further emphasize the goals and objectives of the 'Hamara Samvidhan, Hamara campaign.

The event is being organized in Bikaner, Rajasthan, with the aim of setting an example for other states and union territories to follow.

The event provides an opportunity for citizens to become more involved in our democratic journey, and learn about their rights and responsibilities.

The Indian government is launching a program called "Nyaya Sahayak" in 500 Aspirational blocks.

Nayaya Sahayaks will act as community-based messengers to spread the word and provide door-to-door information. These messengers help people register legal cases and access legal advice.

PM Modi to Launch 112 National Highway Projects

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Gurugram in Haryana.

During his visit, he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of 112 National Highway projects for different States worth around one lakh crore rupees.

These Projects will significantly contribute towards the growth of the National Highway network and help in boosting the socio-economic growth across the country.

The Prime Minister will inaugurate the 19-kilometre-long Haryana section of the 8-lane Dwarka Expressway which has been built at a cost of around four thousand one hundred crore rupees.

It will provide direct connectivity to the IGI Airport in Delhi and Gurugram Bypass.

 

SPORTS

French Open Badminton Tournament

Indian pair Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty have clinched their second French Open Men's doubles Badminton title.

The Indian top seed registered a straight games victory over Yang Po-han and Lee Jhe-huei of Taiwan in the final 21-11, 21-17.

Satwik and Chirag had earlier won the title in 2022.

IAA Golden Compass Award

Srinivasan Swamy received the ‘IAA Golden Compass Award’ from the International Advertising Association (IAA) in March 2024.

Srinivasan Swamy holds the position of Chairman and Managing Director at RK Swamy Limited. He is also known as Sundar Swami.

This award is being given for the first time to an Indian industrial leader.

Srinivasan Swamy has been awarded the IAA Godden Compass Award at the 45th IAA World Congress held in Penang, Malaysia.

The award honors stalwarts who have made significant contributions in the field of marketing, advertising and media industries.

The award is given to recognize his commitment to excellence in communications as well as his contribution to the worldwide advancement of the International Advertising Association.

The Golden Compass Awards honor outdoor industry leaders for their notable achievements in international advertising and marketing.

‘Measles and Rubella Champion Global Award’

India has been honored with the prestigious ‘Measles and Rubella Champion’ award.

India has been given this award for its exemplary efforts in combating these diseases.

India received recognition from 'The Measles and Rubella Partnership' at the American Red Cross Headquarters in Washington DC.

Ambassador Sripriya Ranganathan accepted the award on behalf of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare at the American Red Cross Headquarters in Washington.

This award reaffirms India's unwavering commitment to public health and controlling the spread of these infectious diseases among children.

According to the Union Health Ministry, vaccination against measles and rubella is being done in the country under the Universal Immunization Program (UIP).

Miss World 2024

Krystyna Pyszková of the Czech Republic has been crowned the 71st Miss World in a grand ceremony held in Mumbai.

The 24-year-old Pyszková competed against contestants from 115 countries.

Miss World 2022 Karolina Bielawska of Poland crowned Krystyna as the 71st Miss World.

Meanwhile, Yasmina Zaytoun of Lebanon was crowned the First Runner-Up at the beauty pageant.

The event was co-hosted by former Miss World Megan Young and Indian film director Karan Johar.

According to Miss World Organisation, Krystyna Pyszková is a student, volunteer, and international model.

New President of Paralympic Committee of India

Devendra Jhajharia, a two-time Paralympic gold medalist, has been elected as the new President of the Paralympic Committee of India (PCI).

Devendra Jhajharia, a javelin thrower, won gold medals in the 2004 Athens and 2016 Rio Paralympics in the F46 disability category.

He was the only candidate for the post of PCI president.

All the new office bearers were elected unopposed.

Government Approves Rs 10,372 Crore for 'India AI Mission' for 5 Years

The Union Cabinet has approved an outlay of Rs 10,372 crore for the India AI Mission for five year.

It aims to promote innovation in artificial intelligence through public-private partnerships.

The money will be used to build a high-level scalable AI ecosystem in a public-private partnership mode.

This mission will be implemented through the India AI Independent Business Division (IBD) under Digital India Corporation (DIC).

The India AI Mission will provide supercomputing capacity with more than 10,000 Graphics Processing Units (GPUs) to various stakeholders to build an AI ecosystem.

Various institutions in the country will be provided access to the AI supercomputing infrastructure set up under the India AI Mission, which includes startups, academia, researchers and industry.

Additionally, an AI marketplace will be created to offer AI services and pre-trained models to innovators.

Of the total outlay, about Rs 4,500 crore will be used to create computing infrastructure. About Rs 2,000 crore has been earmarked for funding deep-tech startups.

Indian Army will Raise Two 'Army Girls Sports Companies' for Girls

On International Women's Day on 8 March 2024, the Indian Army announced the formation of 2 Army Girls Sports Companies (AGSC).

AGSC will be formed in a phased manner by the Indian Army keeping in mind the national vision of women empowerment and demonstration of women power.

The Army has identified two of its Centers of Excellence for the operation of these companies. These are the Army Marksmanship Unit in Mhow, Madhya Pradesh, and the Army Sports Institute in Pune.

Through this, girls selected from across the country will be imparted education and will also be made champions in sports.

These girls who have graduated from these institutions will be able to get direct entry into the army.
