MP Government to Launch CM Learn and Earn Scheme

  • Participants in the scheme will receive a monthly allowance ranging from Rs 8,000 to 10,000.

NHPC Inks MoU with Maharashtra Government

First AIIMS in Country to Get NABH Accreditation

Non-Permanent Members of The UN Security Council

  • Algeria, Guyana, the Republic of Korea, Sierra Leone and Slovenia were elected non-permanent members of the UN Security Council for a two-year term.
  • The newly elected members will take up their new responsibilities on 01 January 2024 and serve till 31 December 2025.
  • Slovenia defeated Belarus by a vote of 153 to 38, while Algeria, Guyana, Sierra Leone and the Republic of Korea were elected unopposed.
  • These new members will replace Albania, Brazil, Gabon, Ghana and the United Arab Emirates at present when their two-year term ends on 31 December 2023.
  • It was established in 1945 by the United Nations Charter.

Myntra Partnered with Kotak Mahindra Bank

  • Kotak Mahindra Bank (KMBL) in partnership with Myntra has launched its first-of-its-kind co-branded digital fashion and lifestyle credit card namely the Kotak Myntra credit card.
  • It is to provide trendy and new-age consumers an apt choice for their fashion needs.
  • The card will be available on MasterCard and RuPay networks.
  • The card will be available across Myntra as well as Kotak mobile applications.
  • The card will be dedicated to fashion shoppers across metros, tier 1, tier 2 and 3 cities.
  • The joining fee and annual fee for this credit card is Rs 500 only.
  • 7.5% instant discount on unlimited transactions on Myntra, up to Rs 750 per transaction.

Manappuram Finance Unveiled a Digital Lending App Ma-Money

  • Kerala-based Non-Banking Financial Company (NBFC), Manappuram Finance Ltd has launched a new digital lending platform named Ma-Money.
  • It is to provide customers all the financial products offered by Manappuram Finance under one umbrella.
  • Ma-Money is a key component of Manappuram Finance’s overall goal to grow its digital presence and provide clients with innovative and user-friendly financial products.
  • The app is primarily targeted at customers in tier 2 and tier 3 cities.
  • It offers a wide range of loans, including personal loans, business loans, consumer durables loans, loans for the healthcare industry, food industry, small-scale industries, school finance to improve infrastructure, car loans, home repair loans, and farm equipment loans, among others.

U-20 Asian Athletics Championships

  • Siddharth Chowdhary, representing India, won the gold medal in the men's shot-put event at the Under-20 Asian Athletics Championships held in Yecheon, South Korea.

  • He achieved this feat by recording a personal best throw of 19.52 metres.

  • Indian athletes Sharuk Khan earned a silver medal in the 3000 meters steeplechase event, Shivam Lohakare a silver medal in the javelin throws and Sushmitaa silver medal in the long jump event.

  • Apart from this, Shakeel finished third in the 800-meter race by securing a bronze medal.

  • The Indian mixed relay team also put up a commendable performance, bagging another bronze medal.
  • India's total medal tally has gone up to nine at the Under-20 Asian Athletics Championships in South Korea.

New Chairman of The Hindu Group

  • Nirmala Laxman has been appointed as the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of The Hindu Group Publishing Private Limited (THGPPL) for a period of three years.
  • He succeeds Malini Parthasarathy, who stepped down after completing her three-year term at the board meeting on June 5, 2023.
  • Nirmala Laxman During her time as joint editor of The Hindu, she was instrumental in re-launching and setting up new features sections, including 'The Hindu Literary Review', 'Young World' and 'The Hindu in School'. played an important role.

OBITUTARY

Veteran Hindi and Marathi film Actress Sulochana Latkar

  • Renowned Hindi and Marathi film Actress Sulochana Latkar passed away at the age of 94 in Mumbai, Maharashtra.
  • She was a well-known actress of Marathi and Hindi cinema and acted in 50 films in Marathi and around 250 films in Hindi.
  • Sulochana Latkar made her debut in films in 1946.
  • She was most known for her performances in Marathi films such as Sasurvas (1946) and Meeth Bhakar (1949).
  • Latkar was a recipient of the civilian honour of Padma Shri in 1999 for her contribution to cinema.
  • In 2003, she was awarded the Chitrabhushan Award instituted by the Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Chitrapat Mahamandal.
  • She was awarded the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award in 2004.
