NATIONAL NEWS

First Village in UP to have RO water in Every House

  • Bhartaul village in the Bareilly district has become the first village in Uttar Pradesh to have RO water in every household, as part of the Adarsh Gram Panchayat initiative.

  • The Bhartaul village has as many as four RO plants to make clean drinking water available to all.
  • The move will save people from water borne diseases.

PM-SHRI Scheme

  • On the occasion of Teacher's Day on 05 September 2022, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced a new initiative - the development and upgradation of 14 thousand 500 schools across the country under the Pradhan Mantri Schools for Rising India (PM-SHRI) Yojana.

  • The PM-SHRI schools will have a modern, transformational and holistic method of imparting education.

  • The PM-SHRI schools will also further benefit lakhs of students across the country in the spirit of National Education Policy.

Three New Districts in Chhattisgarh in 2 days

  • Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel inaugurated Mohla-Manpur-Ambagarh Chowki as the 29th district of Chhattisgarh.

  • He is scheduled to inaugurate Sarangarh-Bilaigarh and Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai as the 30th and 31st districts of Chhattisgarh

  • It was inaugurated to reduce the travel distance for the people to reach the headquarters and it has been carved out of Rajnandgaon district, by reducing 170 kilometers to 70 kilometers.

  • During the Launch, the map of the new district was inaugurated as well as development works projects worth Rs 160 crore were unveiled by CM Shri Bhupesh Baghel.

Adobe and AICTE

  • The All-India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and Adobe have partnered to strengthen the nation’s capacity for digital innovation.
  • The collaboration aims to provide essential digital creativity skills to more than 75,000 educators working in 10,000 institutions of higher education by 2024.
  • It is to give children the core creative and digital literacy skills they need to flourish in today’s digital-first world, the agreement’s conditions include that Adobe will educate teachers, offer courses and integrate digital creativity into the curriculum.

 

INTERNATIONAL NEWS

KCCI Signed an MoU with BSMES

  • The Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) Srinagar signed an MoU with Bahrain Small and Medium Enterprises Society (BSMES) in Manama, Bahrain.

  • It is to focus on MSME development and the MoU aims to create and deliver suitable services and programs for the member clients of the Bahrain SME Society and KCCI.

  • Initially, Kashmir offer medical packages to the citizens of Bahrain as Kashmir has one of the best doctors in the country.
  • BSMES delegation can act as ambassadors of India in general and Kashmir in particular so that more and more people would visit Jammu and Kashmir and added that the MoU signing is a step in that process.

BoB Financial Partnered with Snapdeal

  • BOB Financial Solutions Limited (BFSL) & Snapdeal in partnership with National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) and JCB International Co. Ltd (JCB) have launched the Snapdeal BoB JCB RuPay Credit Card.

  • Users of the co-branded credit card will receive up to 5% unlimited cashback (20 reward points on every INR 100 spent) on the Snapdeal app and website.

  • Activation of the card within 30 days of issuance will entitle the cardholder to shopping benefits on Snapdeal worth up to INR 500.
  • The card will also be usable at international merchants and ATMs through the extensive JCB global network.

Dubai Open Chess Tournament

  • Grandmaster Aravindh Chithambaram emerged champion in the 22nd Dubai Open chess tournament.

  • He finished with 7.5 points as seven Indians finished in the top 10.

  • The 22-year-old Chithambaram and Praggnanandhaa, settled for a draw in the ninth and final round.

Emmy Award for the Best Narrator Emmy

  • Barack Obama won the best narrator Emmy for his work on the Netflix documentary series, Our Great National Parks.
  • The five-part show, which features national parks from around the globe, is produced by Barack and Michelle Obama’s production company, ‘Higher Ground.’
  • Barack Obama is the second president to have an Emmy.
  • Barack Obama previously won Grammy Awards for his audiobook reading of two of his memoirs namely ‘The Audacity of Hope’ and ‘A Promised Land’.

Prime Minister of United Kingdom

  • UK Foreign Minister Liz Truss was elected as the next Prime Minster of Britain and leader of the governing Conservative Party on 05 September 2022.
  • With the win, she has become the third female Prime Minister of the United Kingdom after Theresa May and Margaret Thatcher.
  • Truss will be sworn-in as 56th prime minister of United Kingdom.
  • She will succeed Boris Johnson, who will tender his resignation to Queen Elizabeth II.
  • Liz defeated former Finance Minister Rishi Sunak by a margin of 20927 votes.

Brand Ambassador of ‘Punyakoti Dattu Yojana’

  • The Karnataka Government has appointed actor Kiccha Sudeep as the brand ambassador of its ‘Punyakoti Dattu Yojana’.

  • It has been established to create awareness of cow adoption and set up goshalas across the state.

  • This scheme was launched in July 2022 and any individual or organization can adopt a cow by paying a total of Rs. 11,000 for one year.

International Day of Charity

  • International Day of Charity is celebrated every year on 05 September.

  • The day is celebrated to mark the death anniversary of Mother Teresa.

  • The main goal of the Worldwide Day of Charity is to increase awareness and offer a common platform for charity-related events for people, charitable, philanthropic and volunteer groups to use for their own goals on a local, national, regional and international level.
  • Mother Teresa was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979 for her efforts in the fight against poverty and suffering.

National Teachers’ Day

  • National Teachers’ Day is celebrated every year on 05 September.

  • Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan’s birthday, is commemorated each year in India with Teachers’ Day.

  • He was a Bharat Ratna winner, academic and former president of India.

  • The Day is celebrated across schools, colleges, universities and educational institutions.
  • Students put on performances and dances and host elaborate shows for their most-loved teachers.
