Home Delivery of Medicines

  • Defence Ministry has said that medicines will be delivered at home from February 1, 2022 under Services e-Health Assistance and Teleconsultation, SeHAT.

  • SeHAT was launched as a part of Digital India and e-Governance in May 2021.

  • SeHAT is the tri-services teleconsultation service of the Ministry of Defence designed for all entitled Defence personnel and their families.

  • Home Delivery will be started with Base Hospital Delhi Cantt from February 1, 2022 and it will be extended to more and more stations in coming times.

Rs 1,38,394 crore Gross GST Revenue Collected for January 2022

  • The gross GST revenue collected in the month of January, 2022 is one lakh 38 thousand 394 crore rupees.

  • CGST is 24 thousand 674 crore rupees and SGST is over 32 thousand crore rupees and IGST is over 72 thousand crore rupees and cess are nine thousand 674 crore rupees.

  • Finance Ministry said, the highest monthly GST collection has been one lakh 39 thousand 708 crore rupees in the month of April 2021.

  • The revenues for the month of January this year is 15 per cent higher than the GST revenues in the same month last year.

Mega Integrated Textile Regions and Apparel Parks

  • Government has approved seven Mega Integrated Textile Regions and Apparel Parks with an investment of about Rupees 4,500 crore.

  • This will facilitate integrated textile value chain. These mega textile parks will attract both Indian and foreign investors, and create lakhs of new employment opportunities”.

  • Referring to the 14 key PLI schemes with an outlay of more than Rupees 1 lakh 97 thousand crore launched by the Government to fully realize the potential of the manufacturing sector and to create new opportunities for the youth.

  • The President said these PLI schemes will not only help transform India as a global manufacturing hub but also create over 60 lakh jobs.


BANKING

1st Indian Bank in Formosa Bond Market

  • This is the first such issuance by any Indian Bank in Formosa Bond market.

  • A Formosa bond is a bond issued in Taiwan but denominated in a currency other than the New Taiwan Dollar.

  • State Bank of India has issued $300 million Formosa bonds and listed the issuance on India INX GIFT IFSC.

SPMCIL Sets Up Two New Bank Note Printing Lines

  • Security Printing and Minting Corporation of India Limited (SPMCIL) under its modernization initiatives has set up new Bank Note Printing Lines each at Currency Note Press, Nashik and Bank Note Press, Dewas.

NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam Ltd. Acquires 5% Equity Stake in PXIL

  • NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam Ltd. (NVVN), a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC Ltd. has acquired 5% equity stake in Power Exchange of India Ltd (PXIL).

  • PXIL is India’s first institutionally promoted power exchange, promoted by NSE Investment Ltd. & NCDEX and has been providing innovative and credible solutions since 2008.

  • NVVN has purchased these shares from NSE India Limited, a co-promoter shareholder of PXIL.

  • NVVN is one of the top power traders in India and the acquisition of an equity stake in PXIL is a strategic opportunity for NVVN to achieve and maintain a leadership position in the rapidly changing Power trading market.

Pan American Women Cup Hockey Championship

  • Argentina has won the 6th women’s field hockey championship title at the 2022 Women’s Pan American Cup. Argentina defeated Chile 4-2.

  • The 6th edition of the Women’s Pan Am Cup was held from January 19th to 29th January, 2022 in Santiago, Chile.

World Games Athlete of the Year 2021 Award

  • Veteran Indian Hockey Goalkeeper P R Sreejesh from Kerala has won the prestigious World Games Athlete of the Year for his 2021 performances.

  • He became the only second Indian to receive this award.

  • In 2020, Indian Women’s hockey captain Rani Rampal became the first Indian to win the honor for her 2019 show.

  • The World Athlete of the Year award is a prize that can be won by athletes participating in events within the sport of athletics organised by World Athletics (formerly named IAAF).

Indian Coast Guard Day-February 1, 2022

  • Indian Coast Guard is celebrating its 46th Raising Day.

  • From just seven surface platforms in 1978, the Indian Coast Guard,

  • (ICG) has grown into a formidable force with 158 ships and 70 aircraft in its inventory.

  • It is likely to achieve targeted force levels of 200 surface platforms and 80 aircraft by 2025.

  • As the fourth largest Coast Guard in the world, it has played a significant role in securing the Indian coasts and enforcing regulations in the maritime zones of India.

 

OBITUARY NEWS

Renowned social worker and Padma Shri awardee Baba Iqbal Singh

  • Renowned social worker and Padma Shri awardee Baba Iqbal Singh, in-charge of Kalgidhar Trust, died at the age of 96 years at Baru Sahib in Sirmaur district.

  • He had started his journey of service towards humanity following the footsteps of his mentor Sant Attar Singh Maharaj. He was also conferred with Shiromani Pant Rattan award.

  • Baba Iqbal Singh worked relentlessly towards imparting value-based education in rural India.
